We are delighted to announce the introduction of regular, live stand-up comedy nights here at WWMCC
There will be three comedians each evening and the bar will be open before, in between the acts and at the end of the evening.
Seating is unreserved except when you have a party of 6 people in which case we will allocate a table to accommodate your entire party.
The two dates for 2023 are Friday 13th October and Friday 8th December. Please email comedy@woodfordcom.com if you wish to be added to our mailing list about future events.
Tickets are £12 each and available from our TicketSource account – a small booking fee applies.
The comedians for the 13th October are Phil Walker, Karen Bayley and Carl Jones, their details are below. Age guidance 18+yrs

Phil Walker radiates an infectious cheeky energy, both with his topical stand-up and audience interaction. Employing Usain-quick wit, he keeps running jokes alive, whilst daft gags and clever quips guarantee a great night.
2022 saw Phil appear as opening act for legendary music icon Frankie Valli as part of his UK tour, and also as support act for comedy superstar Jason Manford on his “Like me” tour. He is a favourite on cruise ships, sometimes performing with his father Roy.
His great act, along with his warm personality & charm have made Phil one of the most sought-after entertainers around today.
Karen Bayley hails from Birmingham and has been on the circuit for over a decade.
Delightfully saucy, her friendly and confident stage presence, combined with a killer wit, an infectious giggle and some devastating one-liners, make her a comedic force with a spiky edge, and her bold, no-nonsense attitude strikes a perfect pitch with men and women alike.
“Bayley’s material surprises with inspired and sparkling punchlines…with comic timing that is rarely less than brilliant. An assured performer who doesn’t have much trouble getting audiences laughing.” - Chortle
“Karen is one of the most consistently hilarious comedians I have had the pleasure of working with. She’s a sharp writer and an unflappable compère, able to cajole any room with her warm audience interaction and precise intelligent gags” Joe Lycett
Derbyshire comic Carl Jones first hit the circuit in 2011 after winning the Nottingham Comedy Festival Best Newcomer in his first handful of gigs. Since then, he’s gone on to gig at some of the top comedy clubs across the UK.
With a growing reputation as an engaging comedian and welcoming MC, he lights up a wide range of comedy clubs across the UK.
“Very funny…a breezily entertaining half-hour from a likeable comic…the audience loved him from start to finish…his natural comic story-telling ability had them hanging on every word.”

Bill Woolland is a naturally funny man, whose relaxed, warm, and friendly style is complimented by excellent original observational material, making his comedy easily accessible to most audiences. He has plenty of hilarious experiences to draw upon, in what has been a particularly colourful life!
His has a natural ability to read any room and adapt his act to any age or social grouping, so that each performance is unique. Due to this wide appeal, Bill has been successfully performing internationally at comedy and cabaret clubs, weddings, charity auctions, and sportsman’s dinners.
He is very popular on P&O and Thomson Gold cruises, and his corporate clients include Yorkshire Bank, Travis Perkins, British Telecom, and Mercedes Benz.
Winner World One Liner Championship 2019, ROFL Comedy Club, Stoke
Stephen Cookson delivered deadpan one-liners that were perfectly executed and written. Had one lady hyperventilating and begging for him to stop. The quality of this man’s gags is up there with Milton Jones and Gary Delaney”
Bryan Malcolm (The HaHa Club)
“Old whippersnapper and worryingly funny. Frankly I hope he stops doing comedy before he costs me work”
Gary Delaney
International star Sully O’Sullivan is the quintessential Kiwi comic with killer punchlines: his energetic style is a crucial mix of cynicism, wit, intelligence, and menace!
Sully has been declared a highlight of the New Zealand International Comedy Festival by The NZ Herald, a highlight of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival by The Scotsman, featured on Australian TV’s ‘The Comedy Channel’, hosted a sell-out stand-up tour of Croatia, won Canada’s annual ‘Improvaganza’ Tournament, and completed 2 UK national tours.
